Minutes of Meeting Pre-fellowship started at 6 PM on Zoom where many members joined and interacted with each other on various topics. Post pre-Fellowship, the meeting was called to order by Pres. Amitabha Mukhopadhyay and all members and guests were welcomed to the meeting. All the members observed silence for 2 minutes and paid homage to R'Ann Anjali Karnik who passed away on 6th November. The RCPC family is saddened by her demise and will miss her active presence in the Club Activities. President Amitabha updated the members about the events of the past week. The Diwali celebrations and fellowship was a huge success with all members enjoying a fun filled evening. The RCPC Assimilation Committee under chairmanship of Rtn. Brigadier Raja organised the Second Edition of the 'Sunday Breakfast Meeting' at Cafe East Street (Kind courtesy Tony Sachdev) on 31st October morning at 10.00 am, which was well attended. All members who joined the Club after 2017 were invited for this. As a slaute to spirit of giving, the members appreciated the contribution by : Rtn PP Jinendra Munot - INR 2,20,2000/- for Congenital Heart Disease Project Rtn Oni Kakajiwala - INR 20,000 for Eye Care Project Rtn Delshad Karanjia – INR 9,000 for Moledina School Project Rtn PP Nani Desai – INR 6,000 for Moledina School Project. INR 24 lakh donation has been received for Joint Project with RC Kothrud for Chiplun-Mahad Flood Relief and Rehabilitation project 2021. Also following donations were received from the CSR partners for the Vaccine on Wheel Project Alkyl Amines Chemicals Ltd – INR 5 lakhs Enam Asset Management – INR 2 lakhs BMC software – INR 4 lakhs We will also be partnering with Faurecia Foundation for supporting the Tribal Village Development/ Green Village Project. BMC Software has donated 20 Dell Laptops to RCPC. These laptops will be used for "Vaccine-On-Wheels" to support COWIN registration at the vaccination sites for their various units deployed within Maharashtra. Once the VoW project ends, we will redeploy these laptops at various rural schools that are being supported by Rotary Club of Pune Central under Rotary's "Happy School" initiative. This initiative involves progressive upgradation of the infrastructure and facilities of rural schools including Teachers' Training to improve learning outcomes of the students. President Amitabha updated members about the Vaccination on Wheels Project status. 3,68,598 vaccines have been administered as on 13th Nov August. On Sunday, 24th October 2021, RID 3131 organised ‘WORLD POLIO DAY’ programme by felicitating Ms Bhavina Patel, Paralympic Silver Medal winner, who is a Polio survivor. Rtn. PP Surendra Kumar Jain along with Rtn. Dr. Mahesh Kotbagi (RI Director) with her at the venue - Yashwantrao Auditorium, Kothrud, Pune. On 10th November 2021, Rotary Club of Pune Central and Vaccine-On-Wheels celebrated over ZOOM, the milestone of administering more than 3.5 Lakh COVID vaccine doses. The program was attended by the Board Members, Rotary Club of Pune Central, CSR Partners and NGO Partners and team of Vaccine-On-Wheels. Same day RCPC and Jivika Healthcare also launched new initiative of Cancer-Care-On Wheels. Cancer-Care-On Wheels Unit will be equipped to: • Screen mothers for breast cancer, cervical cancer and oral cancer • Screen fathers for oral cancer • Vaccinate girl child with Cervical Cancer Vaccine to prevent cervical cancer President announced that a blood donation drive will be organised by the Mavla Pratishtan and RCPC on 14th Nov at Mulshi Khurd. Rtn. Madhu bhau Rathi organised this drive. An individual update- Rtn. Darshan Rathod, our newest member undertook a Cycling Expedition from Madurai – Rameshwaram – Dhanushkodi – Thoothukudi — Thiruchendur – Kanyakumari and culmination at Kovalam, Kerala. Our Senior Rtn Caswas Pundole was also part of this Expedition. The route intended to cover 450+ kilometres in 5 days of cycling (in an overall 9-day trip). President once again reminded all members and briefed about the upcoming Nomination Committee Election. We wished happy birthday to R'Ann Madhuri Narvekar, Rtn. Aruna Rathi, Rtn Yogesh Shah, Rtn Anil Bora, R'Ann Anagha Shah and Rtn PP Nani Desai. We wished happy anniversary to Rtn. PP Nani Desai and R'Ann Dolly Desai. This week Ms Sharon Britto spoke on the topic - ' GST: five years and the Road Ahead.' The session was a very informative one with the speaker explaining the basics of the complex GST tax in a simple manner. She also talked about the various GST slabs and what GST rates are applicable on the items used in everyday life. Coming Saturday, 20th November 2021 at 6.00 PM the Nomination Committee Election will be held over Zoom.
