Minutes of Meeting Pre-fellowship started at 6 PM on Zoom where many members joined and interacted with each other on various topics. Post pre-Fellowship, the meeting was called to order by Pres. Amitabha Mukhopadhyay and all members and guests were welcomed to the meeting. As a salute to spirit of giving, the members appreciated the contribution by: Rotary Club of Poona West - Rs 3,00,000/- for the E - Vidya project. President Amitabha updated members about the Vaccination on Wheels Project status. 960075 vaccines have been administered as on 20th Jan. Under this unique project, with the support of Vaccine-On-Wheels and CSR Partners, 125+ Mobile Vaccination units have been deployed in Maharashtra’s 11 districts (68 units), Telangana's 2 districts (4 units), Jharkhand’s 9 districts (30 Units), Tamilnadu’s 5 districts (16 units) Bengaluru (9 Units). Rtn. Oni and Nafisa Kakajiwala handed over 1200 - N95 masks to Mr Rahul Katariya of Swadesh Foundation. The foundation is 35 years old and helps the economically weaker rural section. Rahul is the son in law of our Rtn. Anil Bora. President Amitabha announced the change in dates of the District Conference. Due to Covid restrictions, the Conference has been rescheduled to 7th and 8th May. The registration charges are now Rs 8,500/-. Rtn. PE Uday Dharmadhikari made an announcement regarding change in the BOD for RY 2022-23. Rtn. Arun Jindal will now be part of the BOD as the Director for Public Image (Publication and Vocational Services). He also updated all members about the Rotary Logo for the next Rotary year. Rotary International President-Elect Jennifer Jones revealed the 2022-23 presidential theme, Imagine Rotary, asking #Rotary members to dream big and take action: "Imagine a world that deserves our best, where we get up each day knowing that we can make a difference." Logo Description: The circle represents rotary and the dots represent the areas of focus in the logo and the theme imagine rotary represents how we imagine the world to be a better place to be in ! We wished happy birthday to Rtn. Basant Almal, R'Ann Teena Goyal, R'Ann Jyoti Kapoor and R'Ann Jalpa Tewari. We wished happy anniversary to Rtn. Behzad and R'Ann Histas Randeria, Rtn. Surendra and R'Ann Radhika Shroff, Rtn. Pres. Amitabha and R'Ann Manvir Mukhopadhyay, Rtn. Ashish and R'Ann Teena Goyal. This week guest speaker Col Ajay Singh spoke on “The Victory in 1971”. Col Ajay narrated the incidents of 1971 Bangladesh war as a Story and made it a very engaging session. The members felt as if they were transported to the year 1971. Listening to the victorious accomplishments of our Army and our nation, made everyone proud. He summed up by highlighting the way the entire country was united during the war times which can be considered as the most critical factor in the success of the war.
