| Minutes of Meeting | Pre-fellowship started at 6 PM on Zoom where many members joined and interacted with each other on various topics. Post pre-Fellowship, the meeting was called to order by Pres. Amitabha Mukhopadhyay and all members and guests were welcomed to the meeting. In salute to spirit of giving, President announced the receipt of third instalment of Rs. 60,52,000/- from Franklin Templeton Asset Management (India) Private Limited, 2nd instalment of Rs 21 lakhs from Mahindra Finance Services and 2nd instalment of Rs 5.5 lakhs from Godrej for the Covid 19 mobile vaccination project. Members also appreciated the contribution of Rs 20 lakhs by Rtn Yogesh Shah and Rs 11.4 lakhs from Rtn PP Madhu Rathi as Donation for School Bus and Ambulance to Mavala Prathishthan, Mulshi. The Club also received donation of - Rs. 6,19,500/- from BMC Software for the Robotics Project. - Rs 2.5 lakhs from Rtn Giri Sakhrani for Water project - Rs 2.5 lakhs from Rtn Rakesh Makhija for Water Project - Rs 65,000 for Eye check up camp from Rtn. Oni Kakajiwala - Rs 1 lakh from Rtn Delshad Karanjia for APF President Amitabha updated all members about the Vaccination on Wheels Project status. 20,53,470 vaccines have been administered as on 18th March. Daily dosage is at 17094 now. Update on Gift of Sight for the sightless project: Being a large project, TRF disbursed 50% of the project funds in the 1st phase with which certain equipment were purchased, installed and commissioned. Before releasing the balance funds, TRF rules mandate an interim cadre visit to inspect the progress on the ground. Accordingly, care member - Rtn Dr. Haresh Asnani, PP RC Bombay Chembur West visited the project site, i.e. H.V.Desai Eye Hospital on Friday, 11th March 2022. Rtn. Pres. Amitabha Mukhoapdhyay, Rtn. IPP Ajay Dubey and Rtn. PP Ravi Kapoor from RCPC attended the meeting. Introductions were followed by a presentation on RCPC and the project by PP Ravi and a presentation on the H. V. Desai Eye Hospital and its activities by Dr.Sucheta Kulkarni, a medical director of the hospital. This was followed by a tour of the hospital to see the infrastructure, facilities and the donated equipment in particular. Dr. Asnani will be filing his visit report shortly after which the balance 50% funds will be disbursed by TRF to complete the project. Update of Eye Check-up camps • On 27th Feb, Eye Check-up camp was organized at The Dakshana Foundation, Dakshana Valley, Village Kadus Taluka Rajgurunagar, Khed. A total of 228 students and the staff had their eyes checked. 11 staff and 75 of the students need refractive lenses. • On the 3rd of March Eye Check-up camp was organized Azam Campus - Unani Hospital. Total Check Up 188, Reading glasses issued 56 and Referred to the clinic 32. • On 9th March, Eye Check-Up Camp was organised at Khandwenagar, Wagholi. The baby Krishu is having a check for her eye program. A total of 158 adults including a few children had their eyes checked, 48 beneficiaries received the reading glasses and 11 are referred to the clinic. • We greeted happy birthday to R'Ann Manvir Mukhopadhyay, Rtn. Raman Nanda. Rtn. Ravi Chopra, R'Ann Radhika Shroff, Rtn PP Raja Kaharadkar, Rtn. Shantilalji Lunkad, Rtn. Ramesh Sachdeva, Rtn. Sunil Shah, R'Ann Pushpa Lunkad, Rtn. Shashi Talwar an Rtn. Navin Tewari. We wished happy anniversary to Rtn. Rajan and R’Ann Nisha Khinavsara and Rtn. PP Polly and R’Ann Yasmin Patel. This week Guest speaker, Dr Sumit Bhatti, who is a consultant ENT surgeon at KEM, spoke on the topic 'Sleep Apnea'. The session was a very informative one in which Dr Sumit spoke about the causes, symptoms and treatments for sleep apnea which is a potentially serious sleep disorder. He also told about the various breathing assistance devices available for sleep apnea patients. |
