| Minutes of Meeting | A Three-in-One Treat An action-packed evening on August 19, 2023, began with the usual half-hour Pre-Meeting Fellowship at the Poona Club — Conference Hall No. 1, with President Ajay Chitnis calling the meeting to order at 7 p.m. sharp. President Ajay began the proceedings by welcoming and exchanging flags with Rotary Youth Exchange student Antoine Jean. He then gave brief updates on RCPC members’ visit to the Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum, the Eye Check- Up Camp, and Blood Donation Camp. The new theme where Past Presidents get the chance to reminisce about their year in office continued with PP Narayandas Rathi reflecting on his eventful term from 1992–93, during which RCPC “Hit the Jackpot” when the club was awarded a record-breaking nine District trophies, including the most coveted trophy for “Outstanding Work in 4 Avenues of Service”, the Presidential Citation “for achieving a well-balanced program in all Four Avenues of Rotary Service”, and received several certificates of merit from the District. Four new members and their spouses — Mr. Pankaj Dontamsetty, Ms. Minal Kering, Mr. Sanjiv Agarwal, Mrs Tanuja Agarwal, Dr. Kamalkishore Malpani, and Dr. Deena Malpani — were inducted into the club. They were introduced by Rtn. Rakesh Makhija and welcomed by Pres. Ajay Chitnis and all the members. We wished happy birthday to our members Rtn. PP Madhu Rathi, R’Ann Kokila Sheth, Rtn. PP Amitabha Mukhopadhyay, Rtn. PP Kishen Jhunjhunwala, R’Ann Dr. Sadhana Lachyan, Mr. Sidharth Bajaj, Rtn. Ashish Goyal, Rtn. Madhvi Kshettry, R’Ann Dr. Sheila Bhave, and Rtn. Rajan Khinvasara. We wished happy wedding anniversary to Rtn. Oni and R’Ann Nafisa Kakajiwala. Rtn. Arun Shroff, Hon. Treasurer, presented the Club and Trust budget for the Rotary Year 2023–24. The meeting was then handed over to R’Ann Sonia Rajore and R’Ann Alka Srivastav who had organised the evening’s infotainment activity — दिमाग की बत्ती जलाओ. Members thoroughly enjoyed the thought-provoking game, which all the newly inducted members joined in enthusiastically. The evening ended on a cheerful note with the Happy Hours Fellowship, hosted by Rtn. Arun Shroff. |
