| Minutes of Meeting | Doing Good in the World After calling the meeting to order and the National Anthem, President Ajay announced that the name of Rtn Lekha Nair had been proposed and seconded for the post of President Elect RY 2024-25 (President RY 2025-26). She had also given her consent for this. Since no other proposal was received, she was declared elected unopposed. The same will be put up for approval during the AGM on 23rd December. RCPC members turned out in good numbers on a Sunday morning, to attend a special meeting celebrating The Rotary Foundation (TRF), which has dedicated itself to service around the world for the past 106 years. Our distinguished guest speaker, Immediate Past District Governor Dr. Anil Parmar, outlined the TRF’s outstanding work and explained how contributions made by Rotarians to the Foundation multiply and benefit the donor club in due course. Dr. Parmar urged RCPC members to continue their support to TRF, a beacon of charitable excellence. A large number of RCPC members who had attained Arch Klumph Society membership through their contributions to TRF and other major donors were felicitated by Dr. Parmar. The list included Rtn. Ltd., and UBS Optimus Foundation India for their “Spirit of Giving”. Providing an update on the ongoing Eye Check-up Camps conducted by Rtn. Oni and R’Ann Nafisa Kakajiwala, President Ajay acknowledged the Community Eye Care Foundation and the Optos team for their selfless services promoting eye health among school children and staff. Last week’s camp was held at Sarhad School, Dhankawadi, Katraj, during which 185 children underwent thorough eye examinations. Rtn. IPP Uday Dharmadhikari was warmly congratulated for being invited by the Times of India Group to be part of the jury for the prestigious CREDAI (the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India) Bengal Realty Awards in association with Ei Samay to be held on December 19, 2023 at Kolkata. The jury comprising of renowned individuals across industries, will judge some of the best projects in 26 categories of real estate and infrastructure. President Ajay informed members about several projects being undertaken in Satara the following week, including a visit to the dam repair site, gifting of computers to a rural school, and distribution of spectacles at Ashagram, in Village Koregaon, Satara. Later in the week, green PCs, keyboards, and mouse for five PCs will be gifted to the Ashram School Wadki, Pune District. The solar power system for the equipment will also be inaugurated. President Ajay announced that the Annual General Meeting of Rotary Club of Pune Central will be held at 6.30 p.m. on December 23, 2023 at Poona Club. A presentation on and approval of Club and Trust Accounts for the year ended June 30, 2023, are on the agenda. Birthday greetings were offered to Rtn. PP Suhas Merchant, Rtn. PP Ajay Dubey, Rtn. Dr. Abhimanyu Pingale, R’Ann Uma Kejriwal, and R’Ann Mangal Bora. Wedding anniversary greetings were offered to Rtn. Bharat and R’Ann Nilima Shah, Rtn. PP Dr. Madhavi and Dr. Suhas Vaze, and Rtn.
