| Minutes of Meeting | Urvashi Patole’s trailblazing ode to wanderlust and the power of transformative travel unleashed a wave of awe and inspiration amongst the few Rotarians present in RCPC’s weekly meeting yesterday, made doubly captivating by Aditya Dharmadhikari, PP Uday Dharmadhikari’s illustrious son and our very own Harsha Bhogle of the motorbiking world! Logging an incredible 4 lac kms on her motorbike over 20+ years since she started, Urvashi’s biking adventures have taken her across the length and breadth of our country, traversing treacherous terrains from Khardungla Pass to Madu Malai tiger reserve in Kerala, in the process overcoming personal fears and etching a new chapter for women who defied traditional societal norms to pursue their passion fearlessly. Just like Dhak Dhak, the 2023 Bollywood movie made, taking inspiration from her life’s story, Urvashi’s journey mirrors the struggles and triumphs of countless women bikers, rising from a fledgling 11 to 2,500 + strong members today, thanks to Bikerni, her pan India platform for women bikers to get together and challenge the world. Bikerni has had a profound impact of travel on the personal growth of its members, with every member going through a metamorphosis, shedding the baggage of societal constraints to embrace a new found strength, independence and never before camaraderie, symbolising the vast potential and possibilities that lie unexplored beyond one’s comfort zone. In conclusion, Urvashi Patole’s journey is a celebration of her indomitable spirit and a scintillating example for women to break out of their shell to live life on their own terms, emerging victorious through facing challenges head-on, displaying perseverance, resilience and relying on an unwavering mutual support of fellow bikernis!
