Minutes of Meeting August being the month for Membership, our meeting on August 24, 2024 focused on this avenue. At the outset, President Raja shared project updates, beginning with our ongoing Digital Literacy Project. For over a decade, we’ve been spreading digital literacy in Mulshi, and recently, we introduced Alexa to enhance communication skills. Now, we’re expanding to Maval near Lonavala, focusing on teaching basic digital skills to ZP students. It’s been a long journey, but the rewards are truly showing. We also heard about the Financial Literacy Workshop held on August 17th, where 50 students from Gyanda Prashala, Kirkatwadi, were empowered with essential financial knowledge. It’s inspiring to see young minds being equipped with skills that will shape their futures. Our Mega Tree Plantation Drive on August 18th at the Army Institute of Physical Training (AIPT) was a huge success. In collaboration with 14 Rotary Clubs from Pune District, we planted over 5,000 trees. District Governor Rtn. Shital Shah and District Environment Director Rtn. Vasant Malunjkar graced the event, and a special moment came from the Rotary Club of Amanora, who tied Rakhis to the army personnel—a touching gesture of gratitude. We also took a moment to celebrate the birthdays of Rtn. Ramesh Arora (August 29) and the wedding anniversary of Rtn. Parvin & R'Ann Monica Nadkarni (August 27). Wishing them all joy and happiness! In other updates, last week’s attendance was 40% non-exempt and 50% overall. Last week’s 'End Polio' collection brought in INR 1000—a small but crucial contribution to our fight against polio. The evening’s highlight was undoubtedly the Mr. RCPC contest. With 25 members participating, the competition was intense and a lot of fun. Rtn. Shashi Talwar emerged victorious, earning the title of Mr. RCPC for 2024-25. He generously donated the earned prize money to the Sunshine box towards End Polio program. The first and second Runners up were Rtn Kishor Malpani and Rtn PP Sukhminder Kalra, respectively. The prizes for the event were sponsored by Rtn PP Abhay Shah, Rtn PP Uday Dharmadhikari and R'Ann Alka Nanda. Special thanks to Rtn. Raman and his group for organizing this engaging competition, and a big shoutout to R'Ann Sonia Rajore for ideating this fantastic concept. Congratulations, Shashi! President Raja concluded the meeting with heartfelt thanks to everyone for their contributions. The icebreaker fellowship was sponsored by Rtn. Raman Nanda and Rtn PP Abhay Shah. Looking forward to seeing you all at our next meeting on August 31st at Shantai Hotel for the fundraising event!
