Minutes of Meeting | We all came together for Our Club Assembly on September 28, 2024. We looked back at the activities of the first quarter of RY 24-25 and laid out our vision for the next months to come. Our President, Brig. PKM Raja, set the tone of the meeting and welcomed everyone. We acknowledged the spirit of giving of our members, Rtn. Vipen Malhotra, Rtn. Nitin Rajore, Rtn. Ashish Goyal, Rtn. Giri Sakhrani, Rtn. Lalit Vij, Rtn. Shireesh and R’Ann Mukta Nadkar, Rtn. Dr. Kamalkishore Malpani Rtn. PP Sanjiv Kumar, Rtn. Arun Shroff, Rtn. PP Dr. Nasir Kazi, Rtn. Pankaj Mehrotra, Rtn. PE Lekha Nair, Rtn. Dr. Gururaj Lachyan and Rtn. Dr. Aari Khatter, who made substantial contributions for different projects. Despite the unpredictable rains, our third Eye Check-Up Camp at Vitthalrao Shivarkar School was a remarkable success. We managed to screen 339 students and staff members, with 62 students receiving much-needed glasses. For those needing further care, 23 were referred for additional evaluation, while 13 staff members also benefited, with 4 of them receiving reading glasses. We also had the honor of officiating the installation of the Interact Club at Sayudh Deaf and Dumb School, as well as the Rotaract Club at Malganga’s New Vision College. These installations, led by President Raja, mark new beginnings and promise to ignite a sense of leadership and community among the younger generation. Another important event was the inauguration of the Chemistry Lab at Malganga’s New Vision College. This academic facility, made possible through a generous CSR donation from 3A Composites India Pvt. Ltd., will open new doors for the blind students who are eager to pursue their higher education in science. Rtn. PP Rakesh Bhargava brought in some thought-provoking insights on the significance of endowments to The Rotary Foundation (TRF). He reminded us that endowments create an enduring legacy, offering support to Rotary projects for generations to come. During the club assembly, board directors shared updates on the last three months and plans for the months ahead. From successful fellowship events and recruitment strategies for new members to the continuation of vital projects like the Happy Village initiative and tree plantations, it was clear that the momentum is strong. The Green PC Project continues to be a highlight, bringing digital literacy to schools in Junnar and Manchar. Public image will be strengthened with the upcoming launch of our new website and enhanced digital presence. We extended birthday greetings to R’Ann Yasmin Patel, and we warmly welcomed Mr. Prakash Gugle as the newest member of our RCPC family. Looking forward, we are gearing up for our next weekly meeting on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom. Mr. Yogesh Shouche, Deputy Director of SKAN Research Trust and Honorary Scientist at NCCS, will join us to talk about “The World Within Us.” He will be sharing fascinating insights into the microbes that live inside us and how they are linked to diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, and even aging. See you then! |
