| Minutes of Meeting | Our meeting on November 30, 2024, chaired by President Elect Rtn. Lekha Nair, was an enriching and reflective session, blending inspiration, service updates, and future planning in true Rotary spirit. We began with the National Anthem, followed by a warm address from Rtn. Lekha Nair, who set the tone for an engaging evening. She highlighted the club's ongoing service initiatives: Eye Check-Up Camp: At Shivraj Vidya Mandir, Wadgaon Sheri, 526 students and staff underwent screening. Glasses will be distributed to 32 children, and 34 were referred for specialized care. Riverbank Cleanup: In the first phase of the Pavana River cleanup under the "My City, My Pride" initiative, Rtn. Cmde. Parvin Malhotra led a team that cleared 11 tons of waste. The highlight of the evening was an enlightening presentation by Mrs. Malati Kalmadi, Dr. Devasena Desai, and Dr. Sameena Manasawala from the Kaveri Gifted Education and Research Centre. Their thought-provoking talk introduced us to the concept of "giftedness," explaining how specialized education can nurture exceptionally talented children. It was an eye-opener for many, bringing forward a topic often overlooked yet immensely important. Mrs Malati Kalmadi, Dr. Devasena Desai and Dr. Sameena Manasawala the Guest speaker on 30 November being felicitated by Rtn. PE Lekha Nair. Adding to the significance of the evening was the announcement of the proposed Board of Directors for RY 2025-26 by the Nominating Committee. Members were reminded of the opportunity to submit alternate nominations during the stipulated five-day period. Here’s the proposed leadership team: 1. President: Rtn. Lekha Nair 2. Vinay & R’Ann Archana Biyani (December 3) As we concluded, members were reminded of the next weekly meeting on December 7, 2024, at Poona Club Conference Hall 1. The session will feature a program on ‘Disease Prevention and Treatment,’ led by group of Rtn. PP Madhu Rathi, with a special talk by Mr. Aakash Ramchandani from SutraLETICSS. The meeting left us with a sense of purpose and anticipation for the weeks to come. Let's carry this momentum forward as we continue to make a difference in our communities! |
