18 RDEP systems were already provided in 14 schools last year under this global grant. Further infrastructure items such as refurbishment of 6 toilets, a science lab, a library, school assembly area and sports equipment were all to be provided to Yashodeep School, Warje. There has been very good progress. All 6 toilets have been refurbished with new tiling, sanitary-ware and doors at a total cost of Rs 1,38,000, civil construction of science lab has been completed at a cost of 1,30,000, and 1330 sq ft school assembly area on the terrace has been tiled together with the staircase leading to it at a cost of Rs 1,55,000. Equipment for the science lab was finalised with the science teacher according to the syllabus and an order amounting to Rs 97,000 will be placed soon. The science lab has been created in one of the largest classrooms on the first floor. This class has been shifted to the basement. Therefore, the RDEP system fitted in this classroom will be also shifted to the basement.
