A one-day seminar on “Consultation on Transgender Protection Act 2019” was held on Friday, December 16, 2022, at the Sosva Training and Promotion Institute (STAPI), Yerawada, Pune. This seminar was jointly hosted by Rotary Club of Pune Central, Rotary Club of Poona Downtown, and Rotary Club of Pune Khadki in association with STAPI, with technical support and coordination by the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtra. The objective of the seminar was to discuss the discrimination faced by transgenders despite the Transgender Protection Act of 2019 and to work towards gender equality right from daily living to job security. It is our responsibility as citizens to treat transgenders equally and give them equal respect so that they live in peace and harmony. The seminar was attended by Rtn. Pres. Uday Dharmadhikari, Rtn. Lekha Nair, and Rtn. Brig. PKM Raja.
