The Rotary Club of Pune Central in association with the Community Eye Care Foundation conducted an eye check-up camp on the 13th of July at the Dakshana Foundation in Rajgurunagar Taluka. We started the camp immediately upon arrival, after a 3-hour journey from Pune. The students at the foundation come from all corners of India and we had personal interaction with many. 'Scholars' as they are referred to at the Campus, are being coached for competetive exams. Their study is intensive and it reflects in the eye examination. A sizable number need refractive glasses. We were all well looked after by the staff and the icing on the cake for us was the visit by President Ajay and First Lady R’Ann Dipti Chitnis. We thank them for joining us. A total of 295 students had their eyes checked, 23 were referred for cyclo refraction, 7 others were referred to a clinic for further intervention. In addition, 9 staff members also had their eyes checked. *49* students have been prescribed refraction spectacles and one pair of reading glasses has been dispensed to a staff member. A day we'll spent - Rtn. Oni and R’Ann Nafisa Kakajiwala.
