In March 2023, Rotary Foundation India (RFI) approved our India CSR grant project relating to reduction of cases of “Avoidable Blindness”. The project envisages sponsoring around 11,500 cataract surgeries, 100 Glaucoma surgeries and 150 corneal transplants for rural people from the economically weaker sections of society in Pune district. The project value is Rs. 342 Lakhs, supported by generous donations from Rtn. Nitin Desai and the Volkart Foundation Indian Trust, Mumbai. Progress till date and the timelines for the next steps are as follows: • TRF remitted Rs 342 Lakhs of the project funds to RCPC's Charity Trust in May 2023 • Starting on 29th May’2023, cataract surgeries performed and vision of 10505 patients restored and 89 Glaucoma surgeries done till date.
