With the courtesy of Madhusudan Rathi Charity Trust and with the cooperation of Rotary Club of Pune Central, the Garbage Van (Ghanta Gadi) was started on 02/10/2017 on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and since the last 7 years, this van has been running continuously and the wet and dry waste of the citizens of Mulshi, and Gonavadi village are collected free of cost every morning. Also, about 14 hoteliers in Mulshi area are charged for this service and the money collected is spent on drivers, helpers, and Diesel and maintenance repairs. This ‘Ghanta Gadi’ has helped immensely in keeping the village clean and beautiful. Also, all the waste is collected and properly disposed of in the waste depot. Due to the heavy rains in Mulshi Jalshaya every year, the waste flowing along with the water flow has reduced a lot and it is helping to keep the reservoir clean and pure. Recently this ‘Ghanta Gadi’ has been refurbished for which about Rs. 54,500/- has been spent by Rtn. PP Madhu Rathi. It has helped a lot to keep this dormant activity going.
