This project was started this year with the objective of imparting training to our interactors and rotaractors to deal with common emergencies with promptness and presence of mind. Usually the reaction of people around at such scenes is panicky and disorganised. We held our sessions to train these students about management of victims during this prehospital period, which can potentially help to save somebody's life. We explained to them the importance of so called 'Golden Hour ' precious time during which if patient gets timely and proper care,it can save his life. To make these sessions more practical, useful and interesting, we carried them out using mannequins which helped our students to get hands-on experience. We demonstrated the basic life support skills such as chest compression and mouth to mouth breathing and made them practise these on the mannequins. Way forward- Similar sessions can be conducted for other targeted audiences too, like police, bus conductors and drivers etc.
