Rotary Club of Pune Central has set up a plant for low cost manufacturing of sanitary napkins. This project is a dual purpose project: i) It provides a cheaper, affordable option to women for their hygiene, which is badly needed in rural/semi-urban areas. ii) It provides employment to rural women. The plant has a capacity of producing 1000 sanitary napkins a day. The production has already started.
