A menstrual hygiene awareness programme was conducted at Dasave Public School in Lavasa on Wednesday by Rtn. PP Dr Aruna Umranikar and Rtn. Dr Saroj Bande. 59 students attended the programme. Considering that all these students were mostly from families which work there as staff, it was really a much needed activity. We were surprised to know that still a woman in her menses is made to sit in a corner of the house and not allowed to touch the household things, as told by many girls. We wished we had invited their mothers too for this programme. We distributed sanitary napkins for 3 cycles to all the girls. We must thank our PP Madhubhau Rathi for the sanitary napkins manufactured by his company.
